Timeless Grandeur Meets Modern Experiences

Historical heritage
Timeless grandeur meets modern expectations
Imperial Roman Theatre
Step into history at the site of the ancient Imperial Roman Theatre, where public assemblies once took place. Today, you can still catch a glimpse of the original Roman ruins from our event space.
Palazzo Turati and the Buffoni Gallery
In the 1800s, the site became home to Palazzo Turati, the grand gateway for traders and the hub of Milan’s Silk and Grain Markets. The Buffoni Gallery served as a vital connection point in the city’s booming commerce.
Palazzo Mezzanotte
Designed by renowned architect Paolo Mezzanotte, the Palazzo was constructed to unite Milan’s scattered markets under one roof. Since its opening, it has stood as a symbol of financial power and architectural beauty.
Significant damage to the building
During the war, the economic headquarters suffered severe damage. Palazzo Turati was destroyed, and the Stock Exchange was significantly damaged, leading to reduced activities. The reconstruction work brought significant modifications to Palazzo Mezzanotte's structure.
Relocation of trading space
With the introduction of a fully electronic platform, open outcry trading declined, resulting in the dismissal of the iconic Sala delle Grida. The building underwent radical changes, preserving its historical and cultural features. Trading operations were temporarily relocated.
Borsa Italiana
During the renovation, Palazzo Mezzanotte became the headquarters of the Stock Exchange Board, the self-governing body overseeing the market. In 1998, management was transferred to the private company, Borsa Italiana S.p.A.
Multimedia Congress Center
In 2002, the Sala delle Grida and other trading areas were transformed into a state-of-the-art Multimedia Congress Center. The renovation project was led by Alfonso Mercurio and A.M. Architetti S.r.l.
